You won’t want to miss our weekly 48-hour film challenge tips, leading up to the CHALLENGE WEEKEND.
Top Tip 6: This is real life!
Often, people who have studied film struggle to move away from textbook thinking to real-life set work. In the industry, you’ll find yourself under huge time constraints, and it’s important to find ways to work through it, rather than stress through it. A lot of experienced directors have been in your shoes before, they didn’t get to where they are in an instant. You can study for hours which is great, but without real-life experience, you won’t be successful. You could compare it to riding a bike. Say you spent the day studying a book about bikes, but not attempting to ride it yourself, you can’t expect to hop on and be good at it in an instant, you need real-life practice!
Here’s Patrick Tucker talking about who he is and what he does. We have linked his book below which expands on the things he discusses to help you this CHALLENGE WEEKEND:
