Top Tip 9: It’s all about visuals
Don’t let budget concerns stop you from being creative and taking risks this CHALLENGE WEEKEND, you can be successful without an endless supply of money as it’s all about understanding the basic principles of visual design.
We all know filmmaking isn’t just shooting. It’s preparation, visual and production design, location choice, costume, and cinematography. All these fit together to create a successful story. It’s tempting to settle with the first easy or cheap location you find as then you can just get on with your shoot, but just searching for a little bit longer, you might hit the jackpot and find your perfect location. In your team, it’s vital to analyze, discuss, and experiment.
Film Riot explains this further here:
Below, we have linked a great book which guides you through how to find, secure, and manage the best locations, how to create and dress a set, and how to make old look new and new look old—all on a tight budget. It breaks down all you need to know (and more!) to be great this CHALLENGE WEEKEND.
