The DVMISSION 48 Hour Film Challenge is an intense, exhilarating competition where teams have just 48 hours to write, shoot, edit, and deliver a short film. Known for its fast-paced and creative demands, the challenge tests participants’ skills in storytelling, filmmaking, and teamwork. Each year, the challenge incorporates specific mandatory elements, including a title, a line of dialogue, and a genre, which are revealed at the start of the 48-hour period.
By partnering with the Whitstable Arts Festival, DVMISSION aims to bring its unique blend of creativity and challenge to a new audience. The Whitstable Arts Festival, known for celebrating diverse artistic expressions, is the perfect collaborator to host this inaugural North Kent edition.
“We are incredibly excited to bring the DVMISSION 48 Hour Film Challenge to Whitstable,” said the event organizers. “This partnership with the Whitstable Arts Festival allows us to extend our reach and inspire a new group of filmmakers to take on the challenge. We can’t wait to see the innovative and imaginative films that will come out of this year’s event.”
Teams interested in participating can register from 1st July, with an early bird registration fee available until 31st July. Regular registration will continue until 29th August. The challenge weekend will run from 30th August to 1st September, culminating in a gala screening and awards night on 3rd September at The Playhouse in Whitstable.
